FAST Defense  - unarmed Combatives

Dealing with the effects of an emotionally induced adrenal response is the number one, most important factor in successful defensive and tactical training. The objectives of this course are to familiarize and overcome the effects of fear and stress experienced during an unarmed confrontation. Through a series of situational awareness drills, verbal & physical boundary setting, and basic unarmed technique training, students learn a simple, effective and retainable method of unarmed personal protection. An emphasis is placed on utilizing the lowest level of force needed to survive, escape or contain the situation.

FAST Defense  - Ground Combatives

The objectives of this course are to familiarize trainees with effective Ground Combatives. This course focuses on how to escape and survive an assailant’s extreme close range attack that has pulled the trainee off his feet and onto the ground. On the ground many primary defensive weapons and empty hand techniques cannot be accessed or applied effectively. Scenarios cover escapes and counters from face up and face down positions. An emphasis is placed on utilizing the lowest level of force needed to survive, escape or contain the situation.

FAST Defense  - Against Armed Assailants

The objective of this course is to familiarize trainees with confrontation by an armed assailant. Overcoming the emotionally induced delayed reaction to a weapon is the primary goal. Immediate and realistic gross motor defenses against the knife, gun, and impact weapon are taught in both static and dynamic scenarios. These defenses are designed to negate the advantages of surprise, size and strength that an individual may encounter from an armed adversary. The most common types of "ambush" knife attacks are demonstrated and addressed. An emphasis is placed on utilizing the lowest level of force needed to survive, escape or contain the situation.

FAST Defense  - Handgun Weapon Retention

The objective of this course is to familiarize and overcome the adrenal rush experienced during a potential handgun take away attempt. Close attention is given to proper handgun retention techniques and consistent weapon monitor. The relationship between handgun retention and contact distance shooting is examined. Training is conducted in an effort to anticipate a highly aggressive adversary and worst-case scenarios where weapon retention and survival are the top priority. An emphasis is placed on utilizing the lowest level of force needed to survive, escape or contain the situation if possible.
